guitar prices in Argentina?

Question

My nephew in Trelew, Argentina just started playing guitar and i asked my sister-in-law how much it would cost to buy a guitar where they live and i could send them the money. She quoted me as saying 7'000 arg.pesos, witch is roughly $1,400. It's been a few years since iv been there but i cant see on being that much. does anyone know what a started guitar down there would cost or if Amazon would send one down there if i bought it on there site. Thanks

We live in Cordoba Argentina. My son started learning guitar about a year ago and we bought him a nice starter guitar. I can't remember the exact amount, but it was WAY less than you are saying. It seems like it was the equivalent of around 250-300 dollars but I really don't remember for sure. Believe me, if it was anywhere close to 7000 pesos, I WOULD remember. :) I would tell your sister-in-law to get real or forget it.
